Delia is a seasoned Licensed Professional Counselor with a rich educational background, holding a Bachelor of Arts in English from Barber Scotia College and a Master of Arts in Licensed Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Her extensive training encompasses a variety of Evidence-Based Treatments, including Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), the Positive Parenting Program (Triple P), Eco-Systemic Family Therapy (ESFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and the 7 Challenges program designed for addressing substance use in teenagers.
With over two decades of experience in the mental health field, Delia has honed her expertise in delivering individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, and adults grappling with trauma, emotional, and behavioral issues. She is dedicated to working collaboratively with families to enhance their relationships and fortify their family dynamics. Her practice is rooted in trauma-informed care, with a deep understanding of childhood development, parenting strategies, and a broad spectrum of mental health conditions, including but not limited to ADHD and Other Stressor-Related Disorders.
Delia’s professional journey has seen her in various mental health roles, from group homes to individual outpatient therapy, illustrating her adaptability and commitment to the field. Her passion for mental health is evident in her dedication to providing exemplary care to her patients.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Delia leads an active personal life. She is a highly accomplished martial artist, holding a 5th-degree black belt in the American Taekwondo Association (ATA), where she also serves as an instructor and has earned the title of World Champion. Her hobbies include reading and crafting, reflecting her well-rounded personality and commitment to continuous personal development. Family is central to Delia’s life; she cherishes her time with them and frequently travels to the U.S. Virgin Islands to reconnect with her roots.
