Ms. Lauryn

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Lauryn is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/L) who was born in Flint, Michigan, but grew up in the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina. She graduated from Durham Technical Community College with her degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant, having previously obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology from Appalachian State University.
Lauryn completed one of her Level II Fieldwork rotations at Therapy Smarts as a student and is excited to be back and join the team. She has a passion for helping children build confidence and skills for independence in their everyday lives. She believes every child learns differently and is committed to creating an encouraging environment where children can feel successful, celebrated, and motivated. Lauryn enjoys implementing play-based therapy sessions that are targeted to each child’s specific strengths and interests while partnering with families to support progress.
Outside of work, Lauryn enjoys spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, reading books, and hanging out with her cats. She is grateful to be a part of each child’s journey and looks forward to helping families reach meaningful goals together.
