Cary Pediatric Therapy
Speech, Occupational, Physical, ABA, and Mental Health Support for Children

You do not have to wait until these challenges become bigger. Therapy Smarts helps Cary, NC families better understand their child’s needs and find practical support. Our therapists use play, movement, conversation, and everyday routines to help children build skills that matter beyond the clinic.
Cary families can visit our nearby Durham clinic or Chapel Hill clinic. Both locations offer child-centered environments and a range of services that can be coordinated when children need support in more than one area.
Pediatric Therapy Near Cary, NC
Pediatric therapy is not about making children fit into one idea of “normal.” It is about helping them feel more comfortable, capable, and included in the parts of life that are important to them. For a toddler, that may mean learning new ways to ask for a snack or join a game. For a school-age child, it might mean feeling more confident reading aloud, writing, getting through the school day, or making friends. For another child, it could mean building the motor skills needed to climb stairs, ride a bike, or keep up on the playground.
Therapy Smarts takes a whole-child approach. We look at the child’s strengths, needs, interests, routines, and family goals. Then, we create a plan with clear goals that can carry over into home, school, daycare, and community life.
Pediatric Therapy Services for Cary Children
Therapy Smarts provides pediatric services that help children grow with greater confidence at home, in school, and in the community. Speech and language therapy supports communication, speech clarity, language development, and feeding skills. Occupational therapy for children can help with sensory needs, fine-motor development, self-care, and daily routines, while pediatric physical therapy builds strength, balance, coordination, and movement skills.
For autistic children, play-based ABA therapy can support communication, social skills, independence, and school readiness. Feeding therapy helps families work through food selectivity, chewing concerns, sensory challenges, and stressful mealtimes. We also offer dyslexia support, mental health services, and psychological evaluations to help families better understand their child’s learning, behavior, emotional well-being, and developmental needs.

What Your First Visit May Look Like
The first appointment is designed to help you get answers. You will have time to explain what you are seeing at home, school, or daycare and share what you hope will become easier for your child.
A therapist may ask about your child’s health history, development, routines, interests, strengths, and challenges. The evaluation itself often includes play, conversation, movement, simple tasks, or child-friendly activities. Your child is not expected to “perform” or get every answer right.
After the evaluation, the provider will talk with you about their observations and recommendations. If therapy is a good fit, you can discuss goals, scheduling, and ways to support progress between sessions.
Before an initial appointment, Therapy Smarts asks families to complete patient forms at least 72 hours in advance. The billing team can also help review your insurance benefits.
