We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to provide pediatric services to clients in clinic and community settings.

Therapy Smarts is looking for passionate OTs who are interested in living our mission of “Turning challenges into triumphs for all children" to join our growing team in a full-time capacity. Must have experience in pediatrics either through previous employment or fieldwork placement. Experience in a school setting is a plus.

Therapy Smarts, Inc. is a therapist-owned private pediatric outpatient clinic providing SLP, PT, and OT services to children of all ages and diagnoses, including: autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorder, cerebral palsy, apraxia, dyslexia, feeding disorders, and developmental delays.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina license in Occupational Therapy, required
• NC licensure in OT or COTA, required
• Self-motivated, hardworking
• Ability to collaborate and work in a team-based atmosphere

• Ability to effectively & professionally communicate verbally and in documentation

The OT Department Manager works under the supervision of the Clinical Director. The OT Department Manager plays a crucial role in guiding and supervising our team of OT’s and COTA’s in delivering quality rehabilitative services for children suffering from physical, emotional, mental, or developmental impairments.

Position Overview:

The OT Department Manager demonstrates professional knowledge of and skill in applying a wide range of theories, principles, and methodologies of the practice of occupational therapy. The OT Department Manager serves as a mentor and resource for the team, providing support and guidance on complex cases, treatment techniques, and best practices in the field.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Strong professional, clinical, and leadership skills. Demonstrates an understanding of the company perspective

- Supervise and manage a team of pediatric COTAs and OTs, including performance evaluations and ongoing mentorship.

- Develop, review, and refine treatment programs for different pediatric disorders.

- Oversee and implement clinic-wide policies and protocols.

- Provide direct supervision and guidance to new hires and interns.

- Develop professional development programs and support continuing education for the team.

- Ensure compliance with regulations, insurance requirements, and standards of care.

- Actively involved in schedule planning and mentoring the team to develop an effective schedule.

- Adding flex appointments to the schedule and being available to assist with the clinic schedule needs

- Demonstrates consistent completion of all documentation as described in policy and mentors others to do the same.

- Excellent communication skills, understands and engages with others displaying different personality styles, and can have difficult conversations independently with accurate documentation.

- Contribute to the development of clinic-wide policies and standards for care, especially related to HIPAA and other legal regulations.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
• Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
• NC State license as an Occupational Therapist.
• 3+ years of clinical experience in pediatric occupational therapy is required.
• 1 year of experience supervising COTAs and OTs required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven track record of successful team management
• Experience in developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives
• Knowledge of electronic health record (EMR) systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proven experience in providing effective occupational therapy services across a variety of settings.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to develop innovative treatment plans.
• Proficiency in using assessment tools, treatment modalities, and adaptive equipment.
• Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to occupational therapy practice.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with emerging trends in the field.
