Ms. Marissa
Physical Therapist
Marissa is a licensed physical therapist who was born and raised in North Carolina. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Elon University and graduated with Pro Bono Honors for her work with the surrounding underserved community. From a young age she sought out opportunities to work with children, whether it was helping with summer camps, running afterschool programs, or teaching dance classes. Her time as a competitive Irish dancer is what first introduced her to the field of physical therapy, and it only seemed right to combine her two passions, working with children and physical therapy, by becoming a pediatric physical therapist.
Marissa has experience working in both the natural environment (home, daycare, and school) and outpatient setting treating children aged 0-18 years old with a wide range of diagnoses from cerebral palsy to torticollis, premature birth, delays in gross motor milestones, and many others.
Marissa loves working with children and their families and believes it is important to take a family-first approach and each treatment plan is individualized to the child and his/her family goals. She looks forward to working with you and your child to improve their mobility while utilizing fun, creative, and play-based activities
