Vanessa is a first generation student raised in a Mexican household. She was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina. Vanessa graduated from Josephine Dobbs Clement Early College, where she learned to perform under pressure and manage her time wisely. She took two years of classes at North Carolina Central University, where she earned a spot on the Dean’s List. She did 90+ hours of community service during her time there. She’s always eager to give back to the community that helped her become who she is today. Although she is a beginner in her current field, Vanessa is determined and willing to take on any challenges. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing, and playing video games.
