Ms. Nathalia

Nathalia is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with a deep-rooted passion for empowering children and celebrating their individuality.

Originally from Brazil, she is fluent in conversational Portuguese and moved to North Carolina in 2020 after spending 22 years in Arizona. She graduated from Durham Technical Community College and has a diverse background working with children in various educational settings.

Her passion for helping children with special needs stems from her experiences as an instructional assistant, substitute teacher, and tutor. During her pediatric fieldwork at Therapy Smarts she gained valuable experience with a range of disorders including autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, various feeding disorders, sensory processing disorder, and Down Syndrome.

As a mother, she has personally experienced the challenges and victories that come with supporting children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and sensory processing disorders. She believes in a strengths-based approach, nurturing the unique abilities of each child and guiding them towards their full potential.
