Ms. Sara
ABA Program Director, BCBA,
Sara is a Licensed Behavior Analyst and ABA clinical director at Therapy Smarts.
She has been working in the field of Behavior Analysis since 2008. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Elon University in Psychology and a Master’s in Behavior Analysis from Ball State.
Before joining Therapy Smarts she served as a clinical director and ran her own practice. Sara has also worked as an independent consultant to expand programs, train staff, and develop business protocols for a variety of private practices in North Carolina.
Sara’s clinical practice is guided by her values of authenticity, compassion, and connection. When working with learners she prioritizes teaching skills that generalize across all settings and establish a passion for learning. She uses play, individual interests, and motivation to make therapy fun. Sara utilizes a natural environment and verbal behavior approach with an emphasis on communication and self-advocacy. When working with parents Sara uses a collaborative approach centered on the families’ values and priorities to foster meaningful outcomes.
Sara is passionate about supervision and mentoring future behavior analysts. She is committed to training practitioners who value neurodiverse perspectives, evidence-based practice and continual growth.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, rock climbing and spending time with her family.
